Thoughts on these Custom Scales?
on: April 09, 2019, 09:03:17 PM
Browsing eBay, I found this SAK with custom scales......although I'm not a fan of the F word (I blacked it out as to not offend anyone), I do like the rustic, urban downtown vibe these scales have, especially the exposed brick on the front scale.
Anyone else like them, or dislike them?  Just curious.  The knife is a Huntsman.

I normally avoid any tool that's been customised - however I really do like that.
It's almost a steampunk attempt - loving the brickwork
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

Very cool, but not for me.

If it didn't have the brickwork, I would have probably passed on it.
Very cool, but not for me.
I get that.  I have a love/hate for it, but ultimately I figured it was worth $25, just to see it in person, maybe make a nice prop in a photo shoot.

$25 + $2.50 shipping.  Seemed reasonable enough.

That's what I thought, plus they're on a Huntsman, so there is value there.

Wow, they're atrocious!
This is the kind of thing I used to design - when I was eleven!

I think you hit the nail on the head here. Even if you don't like the scales, you could swap them for normal scales, and still have your money's worth

Oh yes I dig these apocalyptic type of scales... I wish mine was copper... acid / black washed even gives it a nicer look... If I’m not mistaken, These type of scales was initially offered by Woro Knives...

Oh and I know the guy that personally did your scales Lisa... It’s the same guy that did mine...

I like 'em - But also don't like the f word - So I would be modding the modded scales when they arrived    ;)
I'm thinking a prison wall with bullet holes from a breakout attempt,  plaster fallen off (better like that than all brick IMHO) and a cell window

And for $25 - You can't go wrong - That's not far off the regular price for a Huntsman

Yes Nick... Dwi is the person I’m talking about...

Woro knives started the trend though...

For God sake man, why can't you just say what you mean and stop pusyfooting... Oh, wait...

Yeah, I have to agree - the design's a bit clumsy for my liking, but they're interesting all the same.  :salute:

Not a fan of the F word even when the F word is modified yet we can still clearly see its the F word.

Very cool scales otherwise.  I agree they look steampunk/post apocalyptic.  Price is good too.
