LC, that's what I thought but apparently it's not the case. Victorinox will not send scales and knives separately, and they're actually very strict about what kinds of scales they can affix to what models, i.e. they will not put Warthog plus scales on anything but the Swisschamp (they will only put the custom graphic plus scales on models that would have plus scales to begin with). Gary, I think your point about stock amounts amongst vendors is likely absolutely correct. I'd never really thought of it like that but I think that's almost certain to be the case. Interestingly (and I'm not sure whether this goes against any policies of naming vendors, vel. sim.), there are actually two independent vendors who sell Warthog-style scales: DLT (of which I own a SC) and Red Hill Cutlery, but the former features a white Vic logo that's painted on, whereas the latter has a red logo which might be painted on but I missed out on buying one to check.

And this one is named DEEP OCEAN.

It is a darker version of SAPPHIRE, imho!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

You are likely correct.   I recall that these speciality scales may have the vendor’s mark on the back side scale.   Same is true for special ALOX models.

There are several models with WARTHOG Scales at DLT.  TINKER, Hiker, Swiss Champ, Huntsman and DELUX TINKER.
I just noticed my BLUE FIGITAL CAMO TINKER AND CADET have DLT LOGOs on the back side.
