I realized I hit the countertop doing stupid things, and my nail was catching on the tip afterwards. It was only after checking with the magnifier I saw how it was pancaked...

Used the tweezers on the Explorer to pick up a dead butterfly, then checked out it's beautiful wings.  I'm really getting into the mag glass.  This is a great time!

And just to add in another picture, here's a close-up of my newly found acorn next to one that I attached to the bookmark on my journal, many years ago. When properly treated, acorns are remarkably durable little ornaments.

I love yellow scales!  I'm thinking about rescaling one of mine with the Don't Thread on Me scales like Sos24 has.
