How about 1971 jaya_man? I have Elsener Soldier 71 with +PAT on can opener, and have seen photos of knives from the same year but without +PAT. Does your Soldier 71 have it? :)

Yes, my 71 has a +pat on can opener... and my 73 as well... I’m guessing those without +pat might have been sent in for repairs. And Vic ran out of +pat can opener spares...

Looks just like mine :). I know Vic stopped using +PAT on can openers around 1972, I just thought if it might be possible to find the "right" year. But it's not that important since it's just a minor difference seen only on opened tool, just like stamping changes.
