Congratulations mags, and good luck - don't let the swarms of college students get to you too much!

(Come to think of it...  )

You sure the U boat is in good hands?
Cheers!

Congrats on the new job and new home Mags

Good news - I will be able to wear my Spirit or MP400 on my belt at work and use them a lot.

Can’t wait to see all your pics of your tools actually being used! :D

We can't bust heads like we used to. But we have our ways. One trick is to tell them stories that don't go anywhere. Like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Gimme five bees for a quarter," you'd say. Now where were we... oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

Those yellow onions. Well, back when I was a nipper, those yellow onions were what the fancy folks wore. The gang I was running with (the ninth street nippers) would buy the cheap white onions, four for a bee and wee on them, sell 'em to the fancy folk for six bees twenty pence (which is what we called bucks in those days). But we were happy.

The youths today are using large mild onions.
One for a Euro (which is what we call shillings today), and we're not happy about it.

Congratulations on the big leap forwards. I'm sure it'll be daunting at times, but worth the upheaval. I hope it all works out well for you all.

College maintenance will be constant, no shortage of things to do, and the working hours will fly by. Also, it's wonderful to work with and learn from the other trades folks you will encounter.  Wishing you all the best in your new endeavor.

Congratulations on the new job and the move, although, I don't envy you the packing and unpacking.  Happy birthday too.  Trouser onions huh? Well sir, in my day we didn't even have trouser onions, but I always took a leek in my pants.

Congrats on the new job and move.

Are the old grannies friendly? I need a new job seeing as the company I have worked at for almost 30 years is going into administration today.  Might be a bit of a commute though

Thanks for your kind words people - you're a lovely bunch

Spent this morning navigating the Byzantine and Kafkaesque estate agent referencing system trying to upload proof of earnings and identity etc so we can rent a house. That's a morning I won't get back, and I have the headache to prove it.

Still, it's all a step further towards a better quality of life so I can't really complain.

Had a great bd yesterday - drove across the mighty Severn bridge to Barry Island and basked in presents and sunshine with my 3 fave dudes.

Started with a solid breakfast (eggys in a nest we call them - tell me if you have a different name where you are)

Saw one of those amazing Tiltrotor planes as well!

:like: My wife usually deals with the admin side of things i just don't have the mind for it. I can tell you random pointless stuff like what Stalingrad was called before it was named Stalingrad, but ask me to sit on the phone someone for hours on end filling out paperwork and all of a sudden the dog needs to be walked for the rest of the day :D And is that one of those Ospreys the US military use?

Happy Birthday sir it sounds like a day well spent indeed :hatsoff:

Is Mrs Sabretache available to do some admin chez mags? I have had enough of it already.

Yes,  I think it was an Osprey - wish I could've got a better pic but I was running for cover just in case it decided to strafe me.
