Day: 01

Went for a hike today, great way to start the challenge. Today I was carrying a knife I made myself: 1095 blade, walnut scales.

Wandered off-trail and found myself scrambling up some scree, following and old fence line:

Some nice views from the top:

Things look pretty dry right now, but that is fairly normal for this time of year.  Went on to climb this distant peak, as well:

Glad I brought some extra water!   :tu:

I have made a few. Still have one to be finished up.

BUT...I'm NOT a knife maker....I'm an amateur with some fairly limited skills and not enough shop equipment to develop into a proper knife maker. Still, have made a knife from steel blank to finished blade is a lot of fun.

Right you are, sir.
I'll at least start out with the Ka-Bar/Becker Remora.
First duty was to finish cutting the quesadilla that the boss lady brought home for lunch.  I do worry when fast food cooks can't even cut through a tortilla shells loaded with melted cheese.
A nice fixie - I like that diamond checking!  :tu:

Well if you ever want a tester, I will be more than happy to carry and use one made by you!  :hatsoff:

Day 2

Use my Enzo Necker knife for breakfast, I love Enzo knives for their value, true scandi grind and material, in someway, I see them as an upgrade to my Mora knives. :like:   The only drawback to this knife is the rivet pin may get rusty with the leather sheath, and so I tape it up for the easy maintenance(since I don't check on this knife regularly enough).  It's ugly, but definitely effective.

I've now fully committed to sticking with just one for the challenge, I'm looking forward to getting to know this little CRKT that I've mostly ignored.
My only support will be a Classic for the scale tools
