LM horizontal carry
on: May 28, 2019, 01:43:27 PM

Hi all, I have been using various Leatherman multi tools for the past 14 years. I carry my multi tools horizontally because I move around and change my position frequently. I have never been comfortable with carrying a multi tool vertically as it either digs in to my upper legs or into my stomach.
Is there anyone who also carries their multi tool horizontally? Are there any alternative sheats or tool holsters that can be used to comfortably fit and carry HORIZONTALLY-Surge; Charge TTI and Free P4 with bit extender and changeable bits? Appreciate your thoughts and advice.

I think it depends how minimalist or what kind of sheath you are looking for.  I've seen leather sheath, nylon sheath and even 3d printed sheath for horizontal Multitool carry.

I had made and used a very simple and comfortable ranger band sheath for my multitool years old, please do feel free to check it in this link here.

if you like that you will like this too:

I've also made my own versions with magnets, duct tape, and rigid plastic sheets.

Im a huge fan of horizontal sheaths as well, I find I have no issues with them when I sit in the car or bend in weird positions.

Hi Guys,

This is a excellent platform for synergy and innovation. Thank you for your replies and advice. In the photo is my multi tools I use. Most of the time I end up using the Surge because I am a maintenance officer and the tasks require a heavy duty tool.

Have you tried the Molle sheath for horizontal carry?  I might have missed this info.

Its looks like belt width will need to be considered if going with this potential.

Lots of great options offered tho.

I posted one method I use for horizontal carry employing a bicycle inner tube in 2012:
