DAY 4
Used the mag glass to find and remove a splinter from my son's finger.  It was one of those tiny little thing that will drive you CRAAAAAZZZYYY!!!!!

(Image removed from quote.)

(Image removed from quote.)

I did exactly the same thing with my Explorer when I got splinter too, probably everybody's favorite use of the magnifier.  :like:

Day 4

Today cut some onion and garlic to make some beans. Opened a Tritip cryovac and cut a chicken in half.

...

My Explorer did not have a package hook so I had to use the inline screwdriver.

...

Good looking chicken!   :tu:   :like:

Day 4

Not much to report from today, only used the tweezers to remove a couple of annoying ear hairs - I'll spare you the sight. :)

57-mile ride? Nice!  :hatsoff:

Thank you Exeter

Today I forgot that a 91mm blade isn't great for slicing  home baked bread... but is just fine with radishes... who knew? !

Day 5

The Explorer got called on a few times today
First was the bottle opener driver for changing the HVAC filter

Then the inline phillips for tightening a couple screws on my holster

Then the pen blade for opening the mail to include a new SAK, which I bought specifically for the scales.

Looking great everyone!  I'm really enjoying packing this knife.  It took this Challenge to make me appreciate what a versatile tool it is.

CHICKEN WIRE FLYER!

Several years ago a couple of my youngest Son's freinds were spending the weekend.  Just so happened we had some chicken wire that had to be taken down and disposed of.  Gave that job to the boys while off I went to tackle another project (who knows what? )...  A short time later I looked in on them (don't leave three teen-age boys to themselves too long (they just might blow something or themselves up ).  Low and behold they had all the chicken wire down and one had taken a section and folded it up into a "paper" airplane,   Well I couldn't help but see the irony in that so it's been hanging off the eave of my back pourch ever sense.

Speaking of deer, I just encountered my first this evening when on a quick trip out of the 'holler  to visit a family friend. Thankfully, the road isn't that busy, and I was able to let her get out of my way.

Day 5. Not a whole lot of use. Sometime ago, I got this Imperial USA Pro Hunter; and knew it had some wobble and that Imperials are typically inexpensive knives (except for Frontiers, those were made by Schrade and Camillus, and are really good). Except when I got it, it wouldn't lock up.  Should have sent it back. But I'm a tinkerer. That's both good and bad.   Tried tightening the pins tonight, and that didn't help. I think the spring bar is fatigued/cracked (the lock bar and spring are carbon steel; while the blade is 440A). Used the toothpick to pull a little bit of cotton, probably from a Q-Tip from when I cleaned it.

Great uses everyone

I did not have a a lot going on today I did cut some chicken up and took apart a SAK to start a Master Election mod. This mod I want to do at my desk with a minimum of tools no drill-press.

Cool idea, but somehow I can't really see the plane, but I could kinda see the Millennium falcon? :D

These deer will eat anything. Even the so called "deer resistant" plants.  In this case, I'm was trying to protect some young apricot trees. We'll see.

When I lived in Africa, the kids there would use bits of wire to make amazingly intricate toys and models. It's amazing what a little time and imagination can produce.  :tu:

Sort of like our kids in the '30s.  If you get a chance, check out the car that Jay Leno has that was made from parts of an Indian motorcycle and junkyard cars.  This industrious lad wanted a car, so his father told him to make one.  It's amazing!
Day 6 finds me at work, so not much action Explorer wise.

Day 6

20190806_095000 by Humayd a r Mahomedy, on Flickr

i use a worn 240 belt for deburring/chamfering sharp corners on the horizontal small wheel grinder, and, this 1 started to peel.
that tiny flaps leaves an uneven finish so it had to be removed
