Mini-Tool date codes.

Purchased it because it was selling at a "must have price" - "Farmers Building & Feed Supply" laser engraved on handles. Handle with FARMER'S has 1095 date, other handle with Building Supply, Inc has 0404 date. First time I see a big gap date codes..

LM stopped selling the Mini in 2004.
Maybe they "gathered" all remaining parts to build a last lot of them

They probably found the 1095 handle at the bottom of the container

Well, the ad on BOTH handles rules out any chance of it being a warranty rebuild. My Mini has only about a one month gap (January, and February 1995); but I've never seen 9 year gaps!

Could have been the handle was found behind a machine or something.

For tools with advertising LM sometimes was made clear handles (without any stamps on sides). Quantity of this handles is limited and their reserve have been used for many years when needed with usual stamped handles. Therefore, the difference in date codes can be so big. This exactly applies to PST, PST II and Mini Tool. About other models I'm not sure.
