Early model too. I saw it, but passed on it because I'm trying to focus a bit more on older Sheffield-made traditionals for a bit--and besides, I'm broke. $30 was a steal; as for a time, the modern models were going for $25-35.
I paid about $15 for the trio I have--one was a goofy looking special run for the armed forces of some nation. Only one I have seen with a Tanto blade. And instead of a silly can opener--a (dull) strap cutter. They were all seconds, so I guess that would explain the dull blades and somewhat goofy tolerances. And I noticed the steel was not hard at all--I cut some rebar binding wire with one (Caterpillar blunt nose) and dented the cutters. LMs can cut coat-hangers without damage.
