Way over 8CR13MOV, but they're cheap, great quality and they flip like  :gimme:

Black one was a present, the green one had a scale swop done at the supplier....cause I asked  :drink:

Gave one of my oldest friends the model with the Emerson wave.....another winner that produced a few laughs......long story.

Detent on all I've tried so far is great, my friend who gifted me the first one still edc's his original, bearing and pivot is so full of pocket lint its disgusting....and it still flips.

....Little birdie told me they might sneak in some chinese-flavoured D2 soon.....

I carry the hawkbill days when I have light coloured pants on, sits great in the pocket and the clip is great.

The one with my name on it is just one size to large for what I prefer.......

Seen these in a couple of places in SA but always passed on them as I assumed Chinese low quality like the fake Spydercos you find in Cash Converters. But may give one a try after your feedback. Certainly affordable at around $20-25.

Chinese manufacture, designed and commissioned by a SA  company......mixed feelings

Picked up a Medium FM-BLK HB1011 today. Wanted the Emmerson version but as a lefty you cannot reposition clip for left pocket.

Did not realize brand is Ultratec. Been around SA for many years and known for good quality ‘working’ knives.

Knife is good value for equivalent of $30. Strong detent so flipper snaps open very positively helped by bearing pivot. Locks solid with no wiggle and quite comfortable in the hand. I’ll probably try this for some weekend EDC as I won’t mind getting a bit of use on the blade.

Will go and enjoy a Windhoek now

Only bad thing about these knives is the steel......and it's not that bad

My one. Love this knife. Carry all day and everyday. I only add a SAK Rambler in my coin pocket.

Bought my buddy a medium with the wave blade, just loves it.

The hawkbill is my favourite TV fondle knife.....

Nice but I can’t justify the huge price hike, from R499 to R999. Getting into Spyderco pricing.

Four years ago I ordered a custom knife as a birthday present for myself, D2 blade, and that was something special at this stage

I won't buy any at that price, but I do think it's a reasonable price.

The friend who gave me the first knife has carried and used his  extensively, retail shop so opening boxes, food, everything!  The pivot and bearings are completely gunked up, but it still deploys and it's lasted....

For a normal person that buys and uses one knife that would be a very good buy.  Spydercos of the same price can't compare.
