I tried both the round and the bar.  I was surprised that I like the bar better.  The bar does not stick out as far, but gives more area to rotate the blade.  I can also use the index finger on the opposite side to help if needed.

Sounds good, I gotta give the bar a try someday.  I actually prefer the look of the bar, the thumb stud stands out a little bit too much for my taste.

Sweet...and pretty sure you will like it! [the G10 Ranger]

I have the similar paperstone-flavored 110 with nickel silver bolsters, and was surprised at how light weight it is.

Buck 110 in paperstone with S30V blade steel and nickel silver bolsters.

These Rangers, with their short clipped blades, remind me of the old Navy cutlasses:

apples are just easier for me to pick a bag and look for damage and put in the cart. With peaches and plums...you have to check them each.

I thought you also had a 110 with aluminum frame and Micarta  scales that is same weight as the 110LT too?

I have one (110) but never found a Aluminum 112 with same scales.  Maybe paper stone used instead of Micrata?

Day 3. Having my one-handed opener being the smaller of the two folders I typically carry, and not the larger feels weird. Typically, my main folder is 112 sized, or a little smaller. My secondary is usually 3" or so.  But, the little Chive is fully capable for its size, and opens quickly.

I quite like those assisted opening offering from Kershaw, chives, blur, scallion, leek, all pretty handy and fun to use, though I never quite understand why Kershaw name them all like cooking ingredients.

Sometimes (often), I get confused.  The 110 I have is Paperstone with aluminum bolsters.  It looks like G10 and nickel silver.  Its the paperstone and aluminum that make it so light.

Powernoodle Day 04

I've been growing broccoli sprouts as of late for their health benefits and as a hobby.  Cruciferous veg (broccoli, kale, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, radish, etc.) contain a compound called glucoraphanin.   As a defense mechanism, these plants release the enzyme myrosinase when damaged - like being chewed.  The myrosinase converts the glucoraphanin into sulforaphane, which is a truly magical health elixir that suppresses tumor growth and has a myriad of other benefits.  Broccoli sprouts release up to 100x more sulforathane than mature broccoli plants.   Myrosinase and glucoraphanin do not survive cooking, so you get little if any sulforaphane from cooked broccoli.  Sulforaphane does survive cooking, so one strategy is to chop up the raw cruciferous veg, wait a while for the sulforaphane to be produced, and then cook it.  Or just eat it raw and forget about the chemistry.  Broccoli sprouts have a very mild peppery flavor like radishes, and can be consumed in abundance.
