Day 08:

Got out for a hike today. Wild weather. Temp in the 30's, so the trails were pure ice in some spots and sticky mud in others.  Naturally it was windy, cloudy, sunny, snowy, and dry.....all at the same time.

Feels like Spring.

I went with spikes on my boots, trekking poles in my hand, and the Ranger in my pocket.

Great day for a hike!

Day 8.

Opened new cordless landline system. We got so danged tired of telemarketers and "Telepanhandlers" as I call them", and since our Uniden system was a decade old, we bought a new AT&T-brand system that offered call blocking. Already used it once on a telemarketing number that is always bugging us.

Blister didn't tear off completely on a Matchbox model, so I had to slit what was left of the card back to remove it.

It's the Space Shuttle Discovery/Endeavour. Oddly, it is marked with "Discovery" on the wing, "Endeavour" on the nose. At first, I thought it was a mistake, but I suppose this was Mattel's way of commemorating the last two Space Shuttle missions. Discovery took part in STS-133, while Endeavour took part in the final mission, STS-134. Also pictured is Atlantis which was the last time Matchbox issued the Space Shuttle casting as an accurate space shuttle. I purchased that one around the time it was announced the Space Shuttle program was ending.

Also pictured is the mission patch for STS-134. I received it from the National Space Society shortly before the mission was flown. I am not really sure if it's from the batch of actual mission patches, or a replica.

Day 8
Today was an errand day with the Ranger in the pocket.  It took a little longer than expected so needed a snack, which the Ranger helped open.  I did get some chips that I’ve been craving and had to dig in as soon as I got home.
