Day 30.

30 days so far and counting.

Seeing that I bought this watch yesterday, I thought it would be a good time to take it out now as opposed to waiting a good 2 more months to wear it. With that said, today was a Hugo Boss Orange Paris day on the motorbike.

Very cool. I dig the outlandish style a lot. :like:

I agree. I researched these Hugo Boss Orange models...and most of them do not contain any orange on them. I find this one fits the bill if you will.

Day 31.

Today, I wore a Casio STL-S110H, which is a tough solar watch designed for the running sport. 10 BAR makes this watch not bad for possibly swimming as well..

The watch is rather large, and the display is rather nice as well. The bracelet isn't as long as on some of my other Casio watches...but I can still make it to the last hole. With that said, this watch is super comfortable to wear.

Day 32.

Last night, I looked over my two Citizen Skyhawks and noted that one isn't doing so well. Looks like I will have to send this one back to Citizen to get a battery replacement as it no long will get a charge from light. The one down for the count is mine. The other that is still working was my father's watch...the Blue Angel Skyhawk. I am going to wear the one that works...and I guess the other will be slated for repair sometime this summer.

I left both watches overnight under an Ottlite. The one on the left is only flashing that display. I can't set any settings on it. The one on the right is good to go.

So today, I will wear my father's Skyhawk. Setting the time on these is a real adventure. These are odd in that you cannot set the analogue hands via the crown directly. To make things more entertaining, there are 3 positions on that crown, and depending on what you are doing, each position will give you a different effect. Not an intuitive watch to set I can tell you.

Here are instructions for the watch...to give you a bit of insight into how to set it. Instead of trying to dig out my owner's manual, I used this link I found online...which was much needed.

http://www.oocities.org/watch_crazy/skyhawk/setting/setting.htm

The Citizen Skyhawks are remarkable pilot watches. Not only does it give you UTC time, but it also gives you world times as well. There is a sub dial that you access via a turn of the crown at position 1. This gives you your settings, time, stopwatch, count down timer, and the various alarms.

The bezel on this watch is equally complex, and functional. Here is a video on how to use one.

These are great watches. I just got to get the other one up and running. I have never had an issue with Casio solar powered watches. However, the Citizen Eco Drive watches have been a bit problematic in that they do need servicing every-now and then.

Day 34.

Next up for today, a ball bearing watch. I found this one on amazon after looking at a lot of watches. When it came in, it was damaged. I was able to fix it once I opened it up. It has been fairly accurate since. The ball bearing rotates around the face via a small magnet. The ball denotes the minutes. There is a central disk that tells you the hours. It is a neat watch, and one that was based on a much more expensive, and probably original watch design. Yes, this is a fairly cheap Chinese copy. Now that it works, I do like this watch for its uniqueness. Now for the bad part. That ball bearing clicks and clatters whenever I drive with the watch. Every now and then, the ball bearing will break free from the strong magnet and it will zip around the face making a racket. Above all however, is the constant chattering when driving that gets to me the most.

Day 35.

Today I wore a somewhat vintage Bulova Marine Star. Oddly enough, I didn't notice the wrong date until I looked at my photographs just now.

Day 36.

A vintage Citizen Chronometer. I have to say, during this era, Citizen had very nice lume on some of their watches. This and the one I wore on Day 20 have very nice and strong glow. Both are on par with the Seiko dive watches I own..and that is saying something.

Was back on St. Joseph island at a great restaurant called "Oh! Sweet Chees'us" at Richard's Landing. It was very hot today and a bit of a drive with the AC on was called for. This restaurant is all about grilled cheese. The food is excellent.

Day 37.

Today, we took another day trip but this time to Elliot Lake. With me for today, a Swiss Military Chronograph by Chrono.

In the city of Elliot Lake. Found myself a new cane for my collection.

At the Fire Lookout scenic view just north east of Elliot Lake.

On the way back, we stopped for some awesome french fries in Bruce Mines.

Back in Sault Ste Marie, it is Rotary Celebrations since Wednesday. Tomorrow will be the parade at 11am. Here I am looking at the rib fest folks and the people waiting in line for their food.

I do as well. It is so very thin and light, that it is easy to forget you are wearing a watch.

A little foreshadowing...today is a Red Line day. Photos will be taken and post here much later in the day.  :salute:
