Nice pic Aloha.  Is that NEW and packaged with button hole sheath?

Maybe Cody would be better served if he ask, “Tell me why not to buy a REBAR.”

Yes.  The sheath is not bad.  The tool fits very snug which I like.  I'm more of a leather sheath user these days.

Sure rebar is good to have. Forget LM bit adapter, if more drivers needed vic plus sheath and L driver is great.(Image removed from quote.)

That is a good idea, thank you Sir  :hatsoff:

I've finally decided I'm getting one, probably a used one, next month when I have some more funds. Our local knife store has new ones for $70, and I figure it would be even better to check out and handle them just to see how they feel.  Last time I did that, I ended up wanting a Crunch more than ever; seeing as how compact it was (I always figured it was more like a Super Tool in size and weight).

Just to reinforce your decision...

Definitely need a rebar...

Added Wave scissors and replaced the Lanyard ring with that from a Kick... also did the 2 tone thingy...

Also have a custom knifeless one... with Wave plier head... Rebar plier head went to my old charge... can’t find the pic though...

Rebar rocks! Added clip, scissors, bit adaptor and diamond file. Lots of modding possibilities.  :like:

Did you put that in place of the washer that normally is between the can opener and Phillips?

I have been wondering about this. That thin lanyard loop could replace the washer in the Rebar, so that thick lanyard loop that they put in there is a waste of space.

Some nicely modded Rebars.  Seems like one heck of a platform for modding.

I like the clip idea alot for these Rebar's!  What clip did you use and please post here how you did the mod.

Thx.

Hi sir_mike. The clip is a discontinued Leatherman accessory designed for the Fuse, which had a pivot cap screw with a threaded hole for mounting the clip. The clip fitted over the pivot with a securing screw supplier with the clip. This clip can be used with other Leathermans (such as the Rebar), but as the pivot cap screw does not have the mounting hole, you have to remove the original pivot and use the supplied cap screw. The problem is that without the original cap screw, the clip’s mounting hole is too big and will move around under the new cap screw. So it needs a washer (fabricated Al works) to reduce the hole size. Additionally, to stop the clip rotating, there’s a tab that normally drops into a corresponding slot on the handle of the LM. The Rebar does not have this, so it needs to be cut using a file or Dremel diamond disk. If you don’t want to cut your Rebar, you can trim away the tab on the clip, but it will then spin around, even with thread lock. Here’s a few pics showing the steps. Note there’s some additional flattening needed (grinding with small Dremel stone) to get the clip to sit flush.

I carry mine in a Maxpedition pouch, so I don't really need a clip on it.
But I would like it if I had the option.  :twak:
