I wrote that the screws holding the clip on my T4 can interfere when clipping the tool onto thick material, e.g., my jeans pocket.  The pocket clip furnished with my T4 knife multitool is different than the pocket clips for the P2 and P4 pliers multitools.  The P2 and P4 clips have an extra bend and more space between the clip and the screw heads.

I swapped the pocket clips.  The clip with he bend and more clearance fits on my jeans pocket better than the original.

Both style clips are shown below.  The original T4 clip is shown on top.

Thanks for pointing that out!

This fix might help anyone wanting to fix the T4 clip.

Also, on top of rounding and polishing the screws, file a ramp on the tip of the clip mount-tongue to make it have zero catching when using in pocket.  :)

The only con that I found on the T4 is the lack of a can opener!
Enjoy!

Leatherman used a new dating system for the T2 and T4. It is a small circle with the year number in the center with an arrow between the two year numbers pointing at the month.

Pics:

T4: Each plastic cover has its' own date circle.

Engraved scale side "A". Date = 5-19.

(Image removed from quote.)

Plain scale clip side  "B". Date = 4-19.

(Image removed from quote.)

T2: There is only one plastic cover on the T2. It has the date circle in a very hard to read place. But, a little patience will help read it.
I couldn't picture it well enough to see in the photo, but it is 4-19.

I knew I remembered seeing something about datecodes on some of the Free series stuff :ahhh just now found it though and have no idea what thread we were talking about it

After reading all the good about Free T4, I'm thinking about going with one of these instead of a C33TX on clearance.

Sorry for the late reply, KK

I believe he is referring to the Zapwizard bit driver for the Free series :salute: you can find it over on Shapeways or his website

I got a t4 today in lunar yellow.

I wasn't planning on getting one but once I saw it in that colour I couldn't help myself.

It came beautifully wrapped and with a handwritten note from the store I bought it. It put a smile on my face.

Of the color options, I like the lunar yellow the most.

I know it's been a while but as an update, I have a 1/2023 built T4 and the pocket clip supplied now matches the P2/P4 clip with the extra bend standard, seems Leatherman is paying attention.

I just checked my recently purchased one.

Funnily enough it is a 6/19 with the old clip.

I do have an extra clip somewhere that I can swap to if it gets too annoying.
