Soft grip Tinker
on: June 29, 2019, 09:29:43 PM
While up in Atlanta I found this unusual SAK. When he handed it to me and I felt how rubber feeling the grip was, he kinda laughed and said it was a soft grip Tinker that was made for a very short time. Any other information would be helpful. It is in like new condition so it came home with me as I have not seen any before. Thanks in advance.

Oh cool...a Soft touch Spartan...that sounds kinda interesting. Thanks for the links. How are yours holding up? It was a concern as I have seen other products with a similar finish fail after a couple of years. I see these came out in 2010/2011. They seem to be holding up ok.

Mine has held up well as I keep it mint in box.  :D
I bought it because of its unique soft handles.  I think it's a cool knife.

I've carried a red Cellidor Tinker for 30 years or more (actually on my second). I'd love a soft grip one!  :gimme:

When they wear down, you get a smooth Cellidor surface. I've carried my soft grip Spartan on and off and there are small, smooth areas at the ends (or one end, don't remember and too lazy check). Cool knives, but I suspect those knives were a test run for Vic and they decided the knives weren"t durable enough.

I was kinda wondering about that. Especially since there are no more models out there. Thanks
