New-Style (Leatherman) sheath with front pocket

well, here's the sequel to what forumer McStitchy started here:

https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,81974.msg1956558.html#msg1956558

Although I've been very pleased with the newer generation of nylon sheaths (sturdier/tougher nylon; better tool fit; better loop pockets; snap closing), I missed the hidden pocket that was behind the loop field on the older sheaths. So, following the post above (and having excellent results in the preciously mod'ed Wave's sheath) I hacked this one. Now I can carry the Removable Bit Extender kit in its own pocket, without the fear of it falling off, as the elastic keeps it snuggled! Also added the Removable Horizontal Carry Strap, as I prefer this form of carry (does not poke my beautifully developed love handles! )

For 10 minutes of my time the modification was worth it!  :like:

Here are both the Wave's and Rebar's mod'ed sheaths, and there their contents. :like: :like:

I especially like the modification for horizontal carry.  Good stuff, Juan el Boricua!

Looking to do the same - is your wave sheath the medium or the large one?

Top work!

Hello, Beynon5. I'm using the large one for the Wave, as it allows me to carry both bit cards and snap it shut without problems. Good luck with the mod and, thanks!  :tu:

Thanks for the reply! looks like large is the way I'll go too then - I normally keep 2 x bit kits and a piraña 2 in there so fingers crossed it all fits  :D
