Air-friendly Squirt
on: July 12, 2019, 11:03:30 PM
Headed to Hong Kong, Japan and Korea in a few days and I wanted to fly with a small multi. I’ve always thought about this but never actually did it, so I cobbled together a squirt from some left over parts and using one of the earlier models (with the T6 screws) as a base.

Only really mod here is replacing the blade with a nail file and nail funk remover. Also, relocating the lanyard hole. I took the scales off and threw them into my laser etcher and etched in “I have no blades” in English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese. Not sure if it’ll work, but it can’t hurt.

Also attached a very colourful lanyard to make it seem way less threatening. I may swap out the blue for the other red scales and etch in a maple leaf.

It's hard to resist the urge to label everything once you have a Dymo.
I can't imagine what it must feel like to have a laser etcher :ahhh

Hey, Metro.  You'd probably know this, but do beware there is still scissors on this mod, I know some airport security may not allow scissors as carry-on tool.  I like what you did with the handles, pretty cool!

@comis, yes I know the scissor rule. I have a pair of folding scissors in my toiletry kit that are larger than get through security no problems. :)

Update. Found an old set of red scales so I realigned and redid the etching. Also included a maple leaf and my little logo.
