:iagree: But looking at the pics from the PST's that are available to buy I noticed so many differences between them so there are at least 25 different PST models besides the PST II, so I have a long way to go before my collection of PST's (Leatherman Tool) is complete.

Way more than 25 if you get down to the small details  :o

:iagree: I only saw the pics on ebay and other sites so it is difficult to see all the details.  But yes if you place the real tools next to each other you see a lot more different details.

On my current count now exists at least 225 different PST's variants (I have 170) and 38 of PST II (I have 37). And I'm sure this is not the final numbers  ;)

Ready.  I just got mine for the challenge in the mail today. It looked to me like I was buying an unused, near mint tool (seller didn't actually state that, however). Blade is scratched up pretty bad, and the tip is chipped. The tool has scarring that suggests it was rarely, if ever oiled. Action is rough, but not loose; even after a thorough cleaning and oil with gun oil (typically so thick, it fixes any "action" problems). Knife had quite a bit of beige colored debris--I suspect it's plastic. Cleaned it off the file with a file card, and out of the pliers. Suspect whoever had the tool used it in maintenance for Premix (which the tool is branded for; was a safety award).

Date codes are September 1996/December 1996. Which suggests the tool was either given out Christmastime or in 1997.

I also only possess one (1) PST. It, and the tool adapter, is primed and ready for action.  :ahhh

No pics yet, I'm far from home right now (in NYC).
Cheers!
