This is a fascinating resource on desktop websites:
https://apolloinrealtime.org/11/
Currently Aldrin and Armstrong are in the LM, descending to the Lunar surface. Tune in and get in the mood!
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Loved that!  Maybe not quite as tense as it was 50 years ago (spoiler; they make it) but very, very cool none-the-less.  8)

I was at Summer Camp and they rang the dinner bell so we could all run to the mess hall and cluster around a huge old black & white TV to watch it!

It is still sort of hard to believe!

If you haven't seen the Command Module and Lunar Lander at the Smithsonian make sure that you do.

Of course the Eagle lunar module is still somewhere on the moon in pieces, the one at the Smithsonian is a replica.  :dunno:

I was 6 years old, almost 7. My father and I went upstairs and watched the moon through binoculars, hoping to catch a glimpse.
No luck, so we went back to the tv. I wanted to be an astronaut then.

Living in Alabama, I have had the pleasure of going to the Huntsville U.S. Space and Rocket Center.
The Saturn V has to be seen to believe how massive it is. It still has the title of most powerful machine ever built and used by humans.

A few pics I took at the S & R Center Hunstsville.

First photo is of the Saturn V rocket. 363ft long. That was a big room it was in. :o

I couldn't help myself with the last photo. Regrettable but funny.

GLBM, you do know whatever posted on internet, stays on the internet, right?  >:D :D

Seriously though, never been to the Center, but did read a little about how massive that rocket was, that probably will be the last of its kind...but I wonder what about Mission Mars?  :pok:
