Well, with the windows open in every room, it's starting to get better. 

Yesterday we had a 39,1°C (102.3°F) inside the house  :ahhh.  And that was with keeping all the windows shut and the blinds down all day, and like 8 fans spread around the house.  And no, I don't mean fans, I mean fans ... (and they say we have a confusing language ...  ::)).

I rarely let it get in the high 70s in my house in the hottest of summer :ahhh

Do you normally have generally cooler weather or is this typical for this time of year :think:

Back in the old days ...

No, we are breaking "records" over here ...

Let's say anything in the low 30°C (86°F) is considered as a very hot day, and normally it's enough to keep the windows shut and the rolling shutters down (not blinds as I said first, but full sized, outdoor mounted aluminium filled with isolation rolling shutters) in the day time, and after sundown, it normally cools down enough so you can open everything up and let the cool breeze blow through the house.  And in the morning, when you feel that cool breeze is dying out, you close everything up again.  That way we are able to keep it quite cool inside the house.  Our house was build in the late '50s, and has those nice thick brick walls, and we've added an extra layer of isolation on the outside last summer, so it's good at keeping the heat out (and the cold during winter).

But these last days ...  :ahhh

Like I said, 39,9°C outside, and even more important, no cooling down effect at night ... and then we're in trouble  ::).
