It is a strand of kevlar thread.  I replace the straight pin with a threaded needle and wrap the thread around the corkscrew then use a small piece of straw to hold.

53221 - Rainier Serrated

The Rainier is essentially a Huntsman, but with a 60% serrated main blade. I really like the 60% serration, and wish they were an option across the Victorinox model lines. There are two other related knives of this vintage (late 90s) that had this main blade: McKinley (like Tinker) and Matterhorn (like Deluxe Tinker). Good candidates to finish off the Disco Challenge...

Victoria Armee Suisse Artisan

I was playing with some of my other Victorinox camp of discontinued this morning, and quite like this Armee Suisse Artisan I got couple years back.  Basically it has tools set similar to a modern fieldmaster, and each of the tool implement is quite different from its modern cousin.
