Hello Everyone,
I recently decided to upgrade my multitool storage from plastic Plano boxes to something a little nicer and I thought I'd share the end result with you all.  Here is the finished product, Pine, Oak Plywood, and Walnut trim. I designed and built the cabinet from start to finish.  It has space enough to hold 54 tools and the spaces for each tool vary from 1.5 inches wide to 2 inches wide.  There is also a drawer for storing fixed blade knifes, sharpening systems, strops, hones, sheaths etc.  Lastly it can free stand on a table or can be mounted on a wall via a french cleat in the back.  Total build time, Approximately 2 weeks after work and on weekends. I have sketchup files for the design if anyone is intersted in building one for themselves.

That look really nice! I used to have a display shelf that had some parts made of wood. Rather cheapish parts used. I am guessing its not properly treated or something cos the metal parts that was in direct contact with the wood started to rust. Strange problem I know.. But something to think about.

Yeah, that was definitely the biggest design flaw on my part. Next time I'll go for a floor standing cabinet and really add some space.  ;)

Hi Yadda,
I'd be happy to share the plans, let me do a bit of work on sketchup to make them easier to understand and then I'll post them here for anyone who is interested.  Thank you!
