Question on the Garrant 111mm

One of the draws to the Garrant 111mm was the plus scales.  Mine came with the tweezers, toothpick, pen and glasses screwdriver. It did not, however, come with a straight pin. There seems to be a hole for one.

Tried putting one in but it won’t go in.  Anyone else carrying a pin in their Garrant?

Hi Brent,

Both of my specimens came with the straight pin... unlike SAK scales in general, the straight pin channel is at an angle... This probably explains why the straight pins seems difficult to go in...

Mine didn't come with one either.  I do recall somebody putting one in that had an orange 'ball' head.

I have a pin in my Garant....it goes in at an angle instead of straight in.

I think that was me....  :D

Mine did not come with a pin, either. Or....I replaced it with a glass head pin--easier to handle. It does angle down a bit.  :tu:

Looking at the photo above, I decided I wasn't crazy about the lanyard.

I replaced the old lanyard with this one. The white spots in the line are reflective material, so might be useful for looking for a dropped knife in the dark.   :dunno:





But....I'm not sure this new lanyard really captures the Spirit of the Garrant...... hmmmmmm.....  might have to keep looking.   :dunno:
