what was i thinking
on: July 27, 2019, 06:47:11 PM
I started collecting multitools several years ago, amassed quite a few before temporarily  falling on hard times and was forced to sell a few. Now after a hiatus of several years where I have not even looked at them I am starting to feel the love again and bought a few more.

so today i had to intergrate my new aquisitions into the cupboard of doom which meant shuffling a few draws about, and while i was at it i had a stewards inquiry into what tools i had left after the fire sale. i am happy to report my hoard had not been decimated to much and more importantly no signs of rust which I was worried may have appeared due to my neglecting to install any new VP90 sachets in several years.

while doing my inventory i realised i had more Charges than i remembered but what suprises me more was of the seven charges i have that they are all either ALX or TTIs.

Sorry for the poor pictures as it is not called the cupboard of doom for nothing.
top left is a standard ALX which was a gift, then three BO ALX then a TTI.
Below is a real tree camo TTI and another standard TTI.
Now i know why i woud have bought two TTIs, one to use and one for the cupboard but why all ALXs is a complete mystery. :dunno:
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

That's still a solid collection Chip. 8)  You can always sell a couple of the ALX to further fund the habit.  ;)

Thanks all,
My leatherman collection does not seem to have taken too much of a hit, nor my Swisstools sadly I can not say the same for gerber.

I am not going to be as prolific in collecting as I once was as money is still tight but I will treat myself to something every now and then.

Where I once wanted one of every tool that the big name brands made I now will be a little more selective in my purchases.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

Thanks poncho and ivo

I was hoping to get my charge collectors badge but you need 5 different models and I only have four and that’s only if they accept the different colour variations as a different model, if not I only have 2. ::)

If I am a good boy Santa might bring me a new charge at Xmas

I tend to buy doubles for users so that I can keep a pristine copy in my collection. This explains the extra copies of a Leatherman Knifeless Fuse, Wave, Core, and MUT. Other than that, I try to not get duplicates if I can help it.

I am the same way, unless I see a bargain, every now and again I would come across a retailer online who were selling one tool or another at an absolute steal. This is the only reason I can imagine I have ended up with 3 bo alx.

I hear you. I tend to give those that I do buy multiples of to my friends in order to make room. With that said, having multiples of a Charge is not a bad thing at all.  :D

No plans to right now as I may even put one into use, but if that changes any time soon I will bear you in mind :tu:

Thanks aloha
The alx tool set would probably prove handier than the one on my wave as I don’t think I have ever used the scissors but I worry the handles may prove susceptible to dings and dents if they are anything like the ones on my juice and ps4.
