New Member that has a question.
on: September 01, 2019, 04:32:51 PM
Hi,
Nice to find this forum as I have been collecting SAKs for the past years.
I have simple question.

Does the current military issued Swiss Army Knife (08 Model) to the Swiss army have any different markings than the commercial one like acceptance stamps or so ?

Thanks

Howdy, Holy Mustche!

Welcome to MTo.  :tu:  Good question.

I'm no expert, and don't have an answer. However, I wonder if it depends on the country or nation issuing the SAK to it's troops?   :dunno:

Welcome to MT.o

My understanding is that they are exactly the same

If you buy a Solider you will get the year stamp depending upon when the dealer bought the knives
And if you want T&T buy a Trailmaster!

The acceptance stamp disappeared in 1987 on the Alox Soldiers

Welcome to MTO, indeed to my knowledge there is no difference to the current Soldier Model to issued models, as they now all bear the year of manufacture. However, I've seen that some special divisions seem to have gotten logos on scales and such, but the knife the normal conscript gets is exactly as the ones in stores.
