With the exception of your collection getting stolen, a great story!  :tu:

The only Buck I have, was my dads 110. He liked it a lot and wore it all the time. I find it a tad to big for me personally. Now if I was to get one, the 112 in S30V with G-10 would be my choice. It is just right for my hand size. With the 3 inch blade, it is right there with 111mm SAK or the Case Trapper. Just the right size.  :tu:

The 112 is a great knife. A tad small for me, so the 110 sees more pocket time, but I really like the 112.  :tu:

Just a quick story.
Got my first Buck about 15-20 years ago after watching my dad bring his Buck Selector on every trip we took to the woods when camping and fishing.
He bought me a Buck Protege which I still have, and now I also have his Selector and a couple newer Buck fixed blades and a Buck x-tract so the collection is growing :like:
And I would also be interested in hearing if they have a plan for a more "traditional" multi tool :tu:

A quick update to check out at Buck.

What happen to the tactical listings?

The Marksman is no longer listed, on the Buck web site. A vender has listed as a Grey Ghost, but out of stock.

Have a safe trip, keep the rubber on road, and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

You could ask them if anyone can remember why the Buck Navigator 753 multi-tool never made it to volume production.  These were shown at the 2002 Shot Show and advertised quite widely, they made a limited number of prototype tools ( I have a few), but were never sold as a production item.

The Navigator appears interesting. Yet, I am glad Buck has stayed the course developing sharp, proven cutting implements with quality and value.

Trying to compete in AWL markets can sink a successful company as quickly as a bad accountant.

Will fire up the bike and get rolling after some breakfast here.

If TapTalk is cooperative, I'll try to send some snaps along with road reports.

I’m so envious of your factory visit and can’t wait to see the photos.

I’ve been a big fan of Buck for many years. I remember getting my first one off eBay back in the days when UK eBay sold knives , I unboxed it opened the blade , admired it , closed the blade but didn’t get my finger out the way quick enough and got a nice deep cut. Those big blades sure do swing shut pretty quick.

Heading out of town, the mountains baptized me with a short cloudburst. I was wet and cold for a little while, but then it warmed up as expected (100°F at one point).

The haze in the photo is from wildfire smoke. Sort of smelled nice.  Maybe it was from RG’s sausages........

Stopped in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, a cool (well, hot today) little town by a nice mountain lake.

I kicked myself for not packing a swimsuit.....

I’m a bit of a burger fan, as you guys know.

I couldn’t pass up a chance to stop at a local burger joint that was started in 1907 and is still a local institution.

The original place:

Today the seating is expanded, but the menu is pretty much the same.

A simple burger with spicy mustard. Simple but good. And only $3.30 for a small taste of history.
