Country Knives
on: April 15, 2022, 04:03:26 PM
Yesterday, my wife and I visited Country Knives in Intercourse, PA. Doug from the VSAKCS recommended it to me last time we were up in Maine. Great little store with all kinds of stuff. I mostly took pictures of their Victorinox stock, but they had a variety of multitools from all the major manufacturers, as well as cases and cases of fixed blades, kitchen knives, etc. Staff was very knowledgeable and passionate, and there were quite a few rare/discontinued models. Price was a little high on production knives (at or above MSRP) but surprisingly reasonable on discontinued models, with new copies going for less than they often go for used on Ebay. Well worth the trip if anyone is ever in the area. Site is here if you want to look online: https://www.countryknives.com/

Pics below:

1."One Sharp Store" sign
2. Case at entry, mostly Pennsylvania themed scales
3. Assorted Classic variants and Swisscards
4. Same case from a different angle. "Rock" scales, DeLuxes, and some LEs.

More pics, one more round probably going up later today.

5. Assorted Alox. Picked up the orange Pioneer X. Not sure if it'll be a user or a shelf queen. The 2020 blue looks fantastic on the shield, but I didn't have an X yet, and the wife liked it.

6. Mix of current and disco'd knives. Champion Plus in the bottom left was probably the biggest surprise.

7. Various 111mm

8. Assorted, Wenger Patriot in the top right.

I'm glad that you had a good experience there. My family and I stopped in some time back and the staff was very rude to both of my daughters.

So, did you two enjoyed Intercourse? I heard it's quite nice...

Pity you’ve only heard about it.  It really must be experienced first-hand…

Last round of pics, sorry for the delay.

9. Assorted mostly 58mms

10. Collector's box

11. Orange Pioneer X front

12. And back with date year

Overall, I love the orange. It's one of my favorite colors, and anything high visibility is a plus for me. I do feel like it doesn't "pop" on the shield as well as some of the other LE colors though.
