CyberTool Family Complete!
on: August 12, 2019, 08:35:48 PM
Completed the CyberTool family today with the CyberTool M (aka CT-34). Now have all 4 models...the others being the CyberTool S (CT-29), CyberTool L (CT-41) and CyberTool Lite.  :woohoo:

Swapped all to solid blue Vic plus scales as a small differentiator for the range...and kinda looks cool.  :D

Showing the replaced red transparent scale for anyone interested in the stamp markings. Seems the shield scale is stamped 14 while the back scale has a circular marking pointing at 16.

My favourite of the 4 is the CyberTool Lite, as it has the magnifier and LED. A good modern alternative for the SwissChamp...but not quite as iconic.

Not shown, but I have a CT-50 too...aka SwissChamp XLT. But I’ll leave this with the original scales...for the moment.

It’s been real fun collecting this series and giving them a little personality.

In the 1st pic from top, 3-layer CT-29 (bit driver, blades layer, opener layer only), 5-layer CT-34 (adds scissors and pliers), 6-layer CT-Lite (adds LED and magnifier), and 7-layer CT-41 (no LED/mag, but adds wood saw and file).

Your collection is far from completion as long as you don't have Beretta or SurfTool (both have special bits).
A complete collection means that Carbon CyberTool is there but as you swap scale that is not relevant.

Good suggestions Maxt. The Surftool should still be readily available in Japan if I'm not mistaken :)

Congratulations Max.  Very nice collection and I love the blue scales.

I’ve never dipped a toe in the waters of the cybertool. I’ve been thinking of checking out a three layer lately, however.  Are the bit drivers useful for working on stuff other than electronics?

Nice looking 'uniforms', Max!  :like:

I couldn't change scales on most of mine...at least not the OG '99 models with the solid back scales and no lifter 'lock' nub. Too bad the CT Lites didn't come in '99, though. And the beater/used CT29s make good, cheap mod fodder. CT Lite +MS+back phillips...it's on the to-do list.

I think so, but they really are a must for electronics.  Aside from the 58mm combo phillips, the rest of the Vic phillips lineup can't tackle small diameter holes with the slightest recess in electronic plastic cases.  :(

Great collection.  I also stopped at the 4 Cybertools as the whole collection would be very expensive.  I was using my 29 but switched to my 34 and am happy I did so.  Its a great tool.

Thanks Aloha, kamakiri, Myron, Wim, maxt.  :hatsoff:

Myron, the term ‘CyberTool’ is a bit of a misnomer as the bits are useful for many applications, and apart from bigger slots (that you can use the cap lifter tool for), the bit driver can be used for most general purpose use.  :tu:

Wow, that’s quite a collection, Max! Good to see that there are other models out there I didn’t know about too. I’ve just got a CT34 lite (half price, so I couldn’t resist....) - I’m planning on removing the lite/magnifier layer, shifting the pliers forward to put the bit holder layer in the middle of the 5 remaining layers, then finishing off with emerald + scales to create a CT34. The removed layer I hope to put into the middle of a compact to create my ideal Knife - yeoman with a torch instead of a Philips screwdriver - my ideal EDC Knife: blade, bottle opener, magnifier, torch, scissors and pen/pin/toothpick/tweezers (I’ve also got some Ti+ scales on order from Daily Customs to finish this one off) - just need to pluck up the courage to take them apart......
