Day9
Started with the Yeoman helping add a lanyard to Smokey.
(Image removed from quote.)
Then Smokey helped with some yard work, the pet treat, the. refilling the butane insert to my Zippo.

Thanks Rapidray  :hatsoff:
It’s given me an idea for the next build...
Going the ‘naked’ route means the screwdriver sticks out too much, so looking at stepping it back one layer. Still planning phase.

Day 10

To underscore the exceptional nature of this mod, it has not one, but TWO pairs of tweezers. While I had the scales off I thought I should open up the slot into which the short tweezers fit :D

Some nice posts!

September 10 - the days are passing quickly this month…used the Titanium and Ironwood Pioneer to cut some steak last night. Today it's in my pocket waiting for the next work assignment.

Why?  Would they imply import tax on this?  Or is there an issue due to recent knife attacks?
Should have probably had fees... but the carver was only $10 value haha. but it was the fact it had landed in the UK and hadn’t left London after a few days, I thought it might be customs charges or something to do with it having 2 blades (plus what’s been going on with knife crime) then had the idea they may have been processing them individually (which don’t get scans at each depot.) Whereas the other parcel I had was mixed in a cage, which they scan the cage at each depot it passes through and the cage is just linked to 100 diff parcels for example.

TLDR no updates, I started to worry.

DT - didn’t know there was another slot to open, but I definitely see the one on my Traveller Lite which has the small tweezers- I’ll have to look harder at the spare scales!

Day 10

Opening up a special delivery which will definitely get used in future mods (had to borrow a vice for the previous mods):

I had to switch gears this afternoon in the interest of the Challenge. Doing a bit of amateur leatherwork and found myself in need of an awl. My production Pioneers have them but...
Wait! So does my bladeless Syph mod!   :tu:  Awl used to enlarge holes for some brass rivets.
I did find out at lunch with my Compact mod that the scaler makes a passable cheese knife, by the way.

Thanks, Rapidray. I wanted to have one I could carry pretty much anywhere. Syph built it for me about 3 years ago. It usually accompanies Spyderco Para III when I carry it.

Very nice mod Sheradin  :like:

How was the awl matched to the scissors backspring width, is there a spacer?

Max- There is a small bushing/washer on the pivot pin for the awl. .005? Maybe .010. It's on the inboard side against the middle brass divider liner.

Day 10
Didn’t see much use due to a full day of traveling.  At one stop while walking the dog used the knife to cut a flower to give to the wife.  I, also, used the combo tool to olen a beer when finally stopping for the night.

Nice pics and uses by everyone! Comis - nothing planned but I get a feeling that at least one of my drinking buddies is going to ask me to create a custom for him once he has decided on content.....

Day 11

Tried to do some ironing first thing, but needed to swap fuses:

Nice pics everyone! I must admit that I also fall asleep before I could post yesterdays pic. Been crazy at work and doing a quick switch from night shifts to day shifts was a bit harder this time.

But here is day 10 - going to carry the alox version of my expedition. Pretty much the same thing, loosing the plus scales, corkscrew and mini driver but gets sturdier blade and bottle opener and the inline awl instead
