Bit falling out of holder on Wave+
on: August 25, 2019, 05:33:26 PM
Hi, i recently bought a Wave+ and the bit keeps falling out, i tried "fixing" it by re-bending the spring that holds the bit in place but only managed to make it worse, i assume since i fiddled with it that the warranty will not cover it?
Is there any way to buy the spring from leatherman or am i on my own?
can i buy a new bit driver? or do i have to buy an entire new tool.
Thanks!

Didn't know you were from Europe , what country maybe someone from there will chime in on warranty service. If you go to your profile page you can add the country so people know where you are from.

Hey bud. Welcome to the MTO and you surely can only buy a bit holder and install it by yourself if you feel skilled enough- it’s pretty simple job frankly speaking

Don't know about the warranty in Sweden, but over here in Belgium (which is also in Europe  ;)), the warranty depends on where you bought the tool.

If you bought it from an official dealer, the Belgian distributor will fix almost anything, if you got it from ebay or an international site, they will charge you with administration fees etc, but they will fix or replace it.

If you bought it new, I wouldn't go ordering bitholders and swapping them myself, just my 2 cents as always  ;).

I hope the warranty for you is easy.   I would send it in.  Sorry your tool is giving you issues.

contact the official importer and see where you go further.
ialso, if you do not advance via the oficiall way, contact leatherman.com, and they'll move things :). aske me how i know :)
by the way, post a picture of that bit holder
