Has Vic ever made or still make a single bladed 91mm cellidor (just a blade, no other tools)? I know the make a single bladed alox, I just prefer the old cellidor.Rich
Not to my knowledge. Maybe very on in the old days pre-WWII when almost everything was handmade. But AFAIK in 91mm they've never had the backspring or the rear non-cut-out scales to do a proper 91mm Solo. A couple years ago I bought a 91mm Angler Solo knife. At first I thought it was just some weird mod that someone made. Then I realized that Victorinox has never made a 91mm knife that had a non-cut-out rear scale, so the fact that this had one meant it was almost certainly factory and not cobbled together from parts knives in someone's garage. To this day it's the only factory 91mm I've seen with a solid rear scale. A couple years back they made a special bladeless run for a company in the UK and even those knives had the standard cut out rear scale.
Rich....you also have the option of the gardening/floral series, OAL is around 100mm if I recall correctly but the blades are about the same length as a regular SAK. The wharncliff is a bit hard to find, the sheepsfoot and pruner blades are readily available, just search for Victorinox gardener on eBay. The blades are chisel cut and the scales are nylon I believe.
I have a ultra rare 84mm solo. (Image removed from quote.)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When I posted the ultra rare solo it was a goof I was fishing for a reaction. I part out waiters for combo tools. I made the solo out of left over waiter parts. My plan was to make wood sacles for it just never did. Recut scales can bought on eBay. Rich S if I would like this to be your 65 SAK PM me your address and I will be happy to mail it to you (Image removed from quote.)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Would love to see a photo of a 91mm Angler Solo knife.
Et voilà:(Image removed from quote.)It's weird.
That’s just about the coolest thing I’ve seen lately.
