A Trapper was the or one of first pocket knives I purchased. And still own, well over 50 yrs old, the knife, as I am older. Used to skin and gut rabbits during hunting season, dress pheasants, when I lucky with the 20 gauge, and skin Muskrats that I trapped along the drainage ditches in the low lands were my grandparents lived. It is a good pattern. There is not a CASE badge, or a Trapper badge. But, there is s Traditional Badge that you will qualify for after completing 30 days. Remember to title each post with Day (number) {ex: Day 1}I will try to keep up and follow your collection and use. My Trapper - (Image removed from quote.)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That is a nice looking Trapper, especially at its age!
Day 2 - This is the first trapper I purchased and was probably my first "nice" knife. The Camillus Yellowjacket has been with me for about a dozen years. I like it so much that I decided to not carry a Leatherman today.(Image removed from quote.)Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
The Trapper is one of my favorite traditional patterns. Here are a few of mine:(Image removed from quote.)Case TrapperCase Slimline TrapperRough Rider Stoneworx TrapperRough Rider mini-TrapperRough Rider Fat Boy TrapperCamillus Yello-Jacket TrapperBoker double lockback TrapperAG Russell Trapper in VG-10countrydirt - Out of all these, I think the Yello-Jacket by Camillus is my favorite as well.
Day 3 - Today I am carrying a Uncle Henry trapper I've had for about 5 years. It's a decent knife, but the fit and finish of this one is not like my 40 year old UH stockman (which I'll carry later in the month).I'm a high school ag teacher and I always have a unit on hand tool maintenance and sharpening, knives included. I provide the knives. This one is taking me a while to get a decent edge back on it after I try to undo what a couple of classes of freshmen have done to it. That's why the blades aren't open in the pic.(Image removed from quote.)Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
What a nice challenge idea Countrydirt I think it would be interesting to see what a couple of classes of freshman can do to a blade
Day 4. Chinese Buck. This is probably my most carried trapper. (Image removed from quote.)Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
