Kayakers save seals

Saw this video on Facebook today and I had to share it.

What does it have to do with multitools?  Look closely at what the guys are using to cut away the netting from the seals' necks!

For those of us not on Facebook, and therefore unable to watch the vid, what is used?

Same here.

I felt sorry for those seals, you could actually see the blood on the net, and laceration on their necks.

Situations such as this is why I always try to carry a sheepsfoot or blunt tip knife with me at all times. Sheep have a habit of tangling themselves up in baler twine if it's not picked up, and I'm always prepared should i have to do anything in an emergency situation away from the farm as well.

The link just takes me to my Facebook local sales, what should I be seeing?

Edit: very strange, clicking on the link in Tapatalk gives me local sales but the same link pasted into a browser shows the seal rescue. Quite a common occurrence here in Norfolk, the local news often shows the seal sanctuaries releasing seals that have been rescued after being entangled.

Sorry, I tried to find the video off Facebook, but I couldn't.  I had hoped that it would be visible without being a member of Zuckercorps.

In the video a couple of kayakers find a pair of seals on the beach that are tangled together in a fishing net.  The kayakers manage to pin the seals down, then they pull out Leatherman Raptors and use them to cut the struggling seals free.  Then the seals take off, happy to be free.

Twice this summer I have been kayaking and seen seals.  They really are the puppies of the sea, and they are fascinated by things that are out of the ordinary.  They will just sit below the surface with their heads poking up watching kayakers for a while until they decide they would rather be eating fish, then they will dive.  They are really cool to watch, unless of course one feels like slapping you with an octopus...

Thankfully that has never happened to me!  :D

There's awlways a smart smurf that ignores the underwater "don't feed the kayakers" sign...

I would save the seals too, on ice, because they are delicious and nutritious.

Awlso remember that, if a seal is broken, the warranty is void...
