MP600 with lanyard ring a-là-Wave
on: September 15, 2019, 04:08:08 AM
Well, now everyone knows how weird/strange/rebel/ different I can be; I like lanyards on my MT's, especially if they're inconspicuous ( NOT like Mr. Pinchy's, or any MP600 for that matter; huge, and wasting tool space!).

Mind that I'll only use them when on the roof of my house/work building, on ladders, or anywhere that might be difficult or cumbersome putting down/picking up tools, or there's a risk of them falling and causing injury exclusively, but I like them.

The bladeless Multiplier comes without such feature, as that space has been occupied by the saw blade exchanger, and I can hardly think that Gerber wants me to use that small hole at the scissors end for that! So, after looking at the elegant solution applied by Leatherman to the Wave et. al./Surge series, I decided to incorporate it in my bladeless:

I took an old sawzall blade, milled it down to the width beween handle and can/bottle opener, then opened up a hole twice as long as its height, cut it down to size, oxidized it in vinegar, and install over  the captive end of the tools' female pivot end. Voilà;  an elegant, inconspicuous, unobstrussive alternative for a lanyard ring!

Pretty proud of it, and enjoyed doing and using it. Hope you people like it.
PS- No, the real Wave ring did not fit as I expected.
