Rothlisberger officer knives
on: September 18, 2019, 04:07:57 AM
Erinox and Saphir were both made by Rothlisberger, around the same time that they were an official supplier of the Swiss soldier knife

I have been able to find 2 of each, but I would love to see who else has one in their collection

What time period was that? Pre Victorinox/Wenger? Nice looking knives.

I was expecting to see Black/yellow knives with a possible STEELERS logo!

Nice collection BTW!

Rothlisberger was the only official maker of the swiss soldier knife (other than Victorinox and Wenger), after 1921, and only for 2 years 1956 & 1957

the second photo I posted is of a 1957 Rothlisberger soldier knife...but they also made officer knives around this same time....1950s/1960s...under two brand names ERINOX and SAPHIR.  they are EXTREMELY rare and i have only been able to find 2 of each.  I have a friend in New York who owns one more but these are the only ones I know of!

see these videos for more information on this maker.  the first is a soldiers knife and the second shows a Rothlisberger officer knife beside its Victorinox and Wenger counterparts from the same period
