Thanks Speedy and Ray I always thought the latch would be a weak link, but it's never loosened up, when the family was young we had a pop-up camper, and this set was all that was needed, I even remember harvesting a Christmas tree with the Saw blade
I tend to think this is more for collection purpose than practical use. It's cool to have the option to switch around with different blades, but with the weight at 12oz(around 340g, according to Case) and the price tag, unless having different kind of blades is crucial, I would imagine a full size LM Surge might be more practical for use.
Nice. On my own wish list is its relative from Böker, the Optima set.
Nice pics toolguy! :tu
Nice Case That Gerber is neat also.
I don't know if I should thank you guys or not for showing these folding blade changers Here's a photo of my Kershaw blade trader I picked up late eighties
Very nice :tu
Here is a picture of the blades of my Case. You'll notice mine has a gutting hook blade.
Very nice... The gutting hook blade seems to be not as common right now. Checking eBay and I think out of 45 knives I only saw 1 or 2 with the gutting hook blade.
Here are the Kershaw Blade TradersThe first set contains blades that have a full flat grind. It also has a finger groove rubber handle. It came housed in a vinyl case. The second set has blades that are hollow ground, except for the saw blade, which needs to be flat ground so it won't bind during the sawing process. This set has a very nice wood handle and came in,what appears to be,a leather case.
When you buy it new,Case gives you the choice between the gut hook blade or a small boning blade. It's an either or choice.I would like to buy the boning blade, just for the sake of including it in the kit.
That is a very nice wood handle on that one!
I wonder why the just don’t include it all in the kit...would be a lot easier for the buyer.
Great looking set toolguy
It is nice but the rubber handle works better when it's wet.To sell more knives of course.LOLThanks W.
Very nice toolguy
Those are nice Ray.I have several folding saws in my BOG, and several duffel bags for deer, predator and turkey hunting. All of these hunting pursuits, will at some time, require trimming branches.
Not quite a knife but rather a folding saw using the same concept by Gerber;it features two different tooth patterns on the blades. To change;simply lift the lever and unscrew the the thumb nut and remove the blade.Stored in it's own belt pouch;a little large but the whole assembly is very light.
This particular one came from my oldest son's gear as well as a couple of small hatchets.
Well my second XX Changer came in today. The best thing about these is that I can carry a drop point blade!
Very nice looks excellent Rapidray
