Citizen with some new clothes
on: September 27, 2019, 11:27:25 AM
G'Day,

I got a Citizen BN7020 monster a couple of months ago and have been wearing it on and off. It is not really suited for work as I don't want to damage it or the train I bash it into  :D

The seller included a set of adaptors that made it possible to have "normal" 24mm straps on it. I added a canvas strap I had and used that for a few months. I like the canvas strap, it does not taper to the ends and seems to fit the watch well. The problem I have is that the holes started to stretch and tear ever so slightly.

I have a few other divers watches and some of them have Borealis rubber straps on. These straps are super comfortable and very affordable at just $27 for a set. So off I went and ordered a black set. I have the orange on the "ol Autozilla and wanted the BN7020 on the black strap. The strap arrived today and went on immediately. It fits very well and perfectly "holed" for my wrist. I did not take a wrist shot but have some of the old strap, new strap and with the Autozilla.

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the costly Isoframe straps, these are well priced, very comfortable and durable. The orange one on the Autozilla is 5 years old and I wear it every day at home. It only gets taken off before I go to bed.

Enjoy the pics,

Pete

Can't go wrong with rubber. I have a Victorinox Garrison. Originally sold with rubber scales; the previous owner had put on some cheap NATO-type band that fell apart (fabric keepers came off).  I was thinking metal or NATO, but rubber is a good idea. Easy to clean and sanitize; plus decently durable; and resistant to a lot of stuff.
