Wow, this means now you have one of the most extensive and largest collection of SAK's, right?
A month ago yesterday, I took custody of the collection of Swiss Army Knives once belonging to esteemed member ColoSwiss, may he rest in peace.I did not intend to be the guardian of the collection as I initially asked to purchase just one knife (any one), just to have a connection to Karl. I believe my personal collection is as large as it is today because I wanted to impress Karl and sought out his approval of items I bought. One knife request evolved over time and discussions turned to acquiring the entire collection minus the Wenger Giant, one I already have and Mark (Karl’s brother), would have a whimsical reminder of his brother’s collection. A few of Karl’s personal pocket carry knives would stay with the family as well, it felt right. My role at this time is how to best determine the course for combining our collections, something in my lifetime I did not fore see.
This is great news, knowing Karl's collection is in the hands of someone who will honor it and its former owner.
Lisa, I can't think of anyone who would do Karl's collection better than you!
Wow. I believe it's in good hands.
Certainly, that's why I put the caveat "one of", but still! So many rare and special models. What can one say? Congrats! A catch of a lifetime for sure. EDIT: Oh, and of course I agree with the others, I think you'll be a great custodian of this collection.
Congratulations on the acquisition FB! I know that ColoSwiss would be thrilled to know that his collection is intact and in your care.
This made me smile. Well done.
I can't imagine a better place for his collection than with you. I am so happy this is where all his hard work landed. As you mentioned you amassed your collection in a way for his approval of your growing collection and now you have his collection, MIND BLOWN. Lisa, I know you will be a wonderful custodian of these items and to his legacy. With his collection and the wonderful gems you've amassed I am confident you are among very few with such treasures. Mind blown again. The sheer thought makes me smile so hard. I am truly happy for you. I cannot think of a better home.
That is so flippin awesome, Lisa I am sure he would be proud to know that his collection is in the hands of someone that will apprecaite it as much as he did Big congrats on this and once you have a bit of a chance to peruse over it we need some high light pics of this
Thank you Poncho, pics will be in route to the forum soon. I mostly want to do Karl proud. It was a labor of love for him, I can tell just by how meticulous he was with storing, archiving and cataloging his wonderful collection.
I am pretty positive that him knowing how you were in collecting, would make him proud that you have his collection now
WOW!!!
Congratulations and happy that one of our own has the honor of being the guardian of his fine collection
So this is just fantastic news
So........ how do you go about posting in this thread https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,21658.0/topicseen.html
I have no idea except it would be quite time consuming, good thing I retired the other day, Oct. 4th to be exact.
