  Some time ago I had this nifty rare earth magnet tucked inside Tread Link 2, the 1/4 inch bit socket.

  Was dinking around with it as Solar Dial and then discovered that the thin magnet actually came in handy for a few other things. Unsure if I kept it in the first one I had that went to Tracy, or if it went walkabout.

  Does anyone happen to know where to get a magnet that can slide into Link 2?

  Reassessed the link. The links looks like it will fit a 6mm wide  x 18mm long x 2mm thick magnet. Could go 15 to 20 mm length.

  Think I found a suitable magnet. Only took me 5 hours to find one close to the bit size of a Leatherman bit. Might be a tight fit, although had to buy 10. Shipping was about the same price as the magnets.  :ahhh 

  So if it fits I'll have a few spares. $19 for 10 magnets :ahhh  6 pound pull too.  :ahhh
