For some reason awls are one of my favorite implements on multitools.  I find them useful for many different tasks.  The best one I think is on the old SAKs, but there not multitools( or are they ;)

Hello back!
I have the plain blade version, but the one I just got on ebay for around 6.00 was a combo blade.

I received my new Buck X-Tract Saturday.  I like it so far.  Here's a couple of pics of it with my Wave and Juice Pro.  I have others, but I'll have to round 'em up for a photo shoot later.

The X-Tract feels well built, I couldn't tell that the handles were thermoplastic when I first picked it up, just enough texture for a good grip.  The combo edge blade(420HC - Rockwell 58) is easily deployed(all of it's tools are one-handed openers) and sharp right out of the box, the bottle/can opener has the perfect point for cleaning fingernails  ;D, I like the double ended sliding/locking screwdriver bit, and although the pliers are on the small side, they should be adequate.  I like the large lanyard loop, big enough to use a swivel clip or snap hook on it.  It is slightly larger than my Wave and Juice Pro, but it is lighter at 5.6 oz where the Wave is 8.5 oz, and the Juice Pro is about 6.8 oz.  It has a decent nylon sheath with a button flap that can be worn vertically or  horizontally, but I usually carry my multi tools in my front pocket with a lanyard attached to my belt loop.  And it has Buck's 4-EVER warranty.   I got mine for under $30 shipped, NIB off eBay.

That close-up of the awl arrangement is an awesome shot Prime. It makes for an eye-catchy photo, plus is a nice comparison pic.

I'd like to hear more about that X-Tract Stormdrane. I had sort of written this tool off as something I wasn't interested in, but now it looks pretty neat in your photos. Maybe you could post a review after you've put it through its paces?

Any one with the X Track tried fitting one of the multitool makers bit adapters on?
Hope that is not the part that broke 665ae :(

I was cutting thru a 1/4" piece of rubber and started to go off my line.  Turned the blade to get back on the mark and snapped off the tip of the blade.  About a 1/4" of the blade broke off.

HighValleyRanch- how about some more pics of that one?

I brought my camera and Wave with me to work yesterday figuring it would be a great day (beautiful, warm sunny fall day) to get a good pic (or ten!) since I go on a long drive out of town on a country backroad.  Of course, everything was perfect, except some idiot forgot the memory card for the camera, and brought the camera without onboard memory!  D'oh!  ::)

Here's a multi tool no one has posted yet.
It's made by Inox. It's a folding hammer with hex bit holder on the end, folding blade and folding saw.
Claw hammer. Folds up nice and fits right into my Bianchi mag holder.
At 12 oz it's no lightweight, and is stainless.
Pic 1 is hammer in case, pic2 is end with hex bit inserted, pic 3 is saw and blade folded out, and pic 4 is hammer folded out
hammer is 5.2 inches folded, and 8.5 open.

Just discovered while waiting for pics to upload, that the claw end has a bottle opener. Don't know what the circle cutout is for. But each of the slots in the main handle are various sizes so they fit certain size bolt heads. Wasn't able to find out the exact sizes, but did fit some of my random nuts and bolts.
added note:
tried to upload more photos last night, but could not....try again!

Someone brought up the Gator Grip socket on EDC forums, so I had to go dig up mine.  I bought it a couple years back off ebay.  It came with the Endeavor multi-tool, a nylon pouch for both, and a bit that fits the Gator Grip and allows the Endeavor pliers to turn it like a wrench.  It's a bit on the large size for multi-tools, but it works.  The whole setup weighs 19 oz, so it's a bit much for wearing on a belt, and my suspenders are already doing overtime, so it's a glove box tool for me.

Hey Highvalleyranch,
I've got one of those same hammer tools. Mine was made in Germany, and is labeled Troika Design Obelix.

Another German tool offered by Troika Design is the Adlatus:

Be careful, many of them are indeed junk. Like most Leatherman designs, the quality German tools have been extensively conterfeited. Those dang Chinese manufacturers have no pride or principles.

I stand corrected! Now that you mentioned the name, I remember that was on the black box which has been thrown away long ago.
I do remember it was made in Germany. I like your other tool. Looks like farriers hoof nibblers.
