Number 5 is a secret- watch out though, it's a tricky one!

Hi Def,

I won't jump into this as my lense won't deal with the width.  Your collection is really cool.  I became interested in multi-function stuff at around age 6 or 7 - Cub Scouts.  Dad let me have a scout knife around age 12 and harped about dull knives cut their owners (he was a doctor) and sharp knives cut what the are supposed to

Got my first SAK when I was 14  or 15.  That was some 400+ SAK's ago.  When the plier tools started, I looked at the Leatherman and said it seems like the handles might hurt.  Bought a Buck Tool 360.  Well, it has gone downhill from there.  I now have some 100+ pliers tools, and, like you, my list of "NEEDS" is longer than what I have.

I'm a Mechanical Engineer  with my graduate studies in metallurgy.  I've always been fasciinated with the engineering concepts of putting all these cool features in SAK's and multis.  Happily, my wife of 42 years looks at this as OK!!!!!!!

Cheers - Joe

I think I know all of them.  What is #5?

If I recall correctly, #5 was a rather timely aquisition for Def.

Congrats Joe, it sounds like you've found the perfect companion!   :)

Anyone care to guess the tools?  This is most of my full sized tools, although some ar on vacation, and some others have yet to arrive.  Then there were the ones that won't stand freely by themselves.

Hmmm, I count (14) Leathermans, (4) SOGs, (5) Vics, one Schrade, and one miscellaneous. It appears to me as if Gerber is rather underrepresented in the line-up Def.   ;)

I know it's just a reflection, but I think a red anodized SwissTool would be gorgeous!

I recently obtained my first SOG multi-tool.  It's a nice, well built multi-tool, with the exception of this one not having anywhere for me to attach my lanyard...  aaargh!  :o

That's odd that your Pocket Party Pooper doesn't have a lanyard attachment- mine does, as you can see from this comparison with a PowerLock.

Odd indeed. And I just noticed that Supratentorial doesn't have a lanyard attachment on his either.

Yes, definately odd.  From various photos I'd seen, I thought they all came with a lanyard attachment, guess not.  I emailed SOG asking if they had something I could use, so I guess I'll have to wait for a response.  It's not a proper knife/multi-tool/flashlight if I can't put a lanyard on it. ;)  I think I got mine from the same seller Supratentorial  did.

Yes.......and no.

I've got a few variations of the Pocket Power Plier (Deluxe, gold TiNi, black oxide finish) None of them have the little lanyard attachment. But the Paladin PT-510 has it, as does another variation that SOG made for Harley Davidson.

I dunno why.

I've changed them again since I took that picture. And heres a new one. The removable pocket clip from LM folders screws nicely to the pocket pliers

Prime.....you have single-handedly forced me to find a way to buy a SOG now...Thanks >:D  All that was holding me back (besides the $$) was the lack of a pocket clip!! I could probably get past the gear teeth sticking out.

If only J-Sews and Def could get a small commission on the tools and SAKs that their pics and reviews have made me buy.  :o  I don't think the gear teeth should be a problem.  It kinda looks cool sticking out of the pocket.

Now there's an idea- get a commission off each tool sold by some poor member drooling over a new tool!

I'll bet the site would be a hell of alot prettier if that happened!

I think before I found SOSAK I had only 2 SAKs, now I have close to twenty. And I thought I had a good multitool collection till I became a member here

When I took over in SOSAK I had maybe 10-15 SAKs... now I have about 200..

And as for the multitool collection, I thought I had a good collection going too, but some of these guys make me look like a newb!
