Title for this post: Take your multitool to work day.

The first thing I usually do is toss my multitool in the dishwasher since it will be used around food.

Here's me using the wirecutters to trim some rosemary for an appetizer.

Here's a picture showing the limitations of Gerber's sliding pliers system in relation to screwdriving.

Bonus Pic!: This is what real chicken eggs look like. We get our eggs (@500 dozen a year) from a local farmer who has tended chickens by himself for several decades (he is slightly "off", if you've seen Napoleon Dynamite you know what I mean), he says his chickens do nothing but eat and fly around. The eggs come in an amazing range of sizes and colors and most look like dinosaur eggs. The color is really quite different compared to mass produced eggs, these yolks are so startlingly yellow it hurts to look at them. There is also a higher incidence of double yolks with these eggs.

Nice shots of the 400 in action! Some folks claim that it is too small to be useful, but it works fine for me.

Any corrosion problems result from tossing your tools in the dishwasher each day?

Not yet. They dry fairly quickly due to the high temperatures used and I usually oil them very lightly afterwards so I haven't seen any corrosion specifically from that action. The washer really does blast all that crap off and out of the tool, makes upkeep a lot easier.

In addition to EDCing the Gerber I'm currently working on a review of a Bucklite.

I was digging thru a box in the garage and found a small tackle box I thought I'd lost several years ago.  I found a Coast Micro-Pliers in there that I'd forgotten about as well as some rubber worm/lures that had melted over everything in there.  I cleaned the tool up with some Tuf-Glide and it's good to go again.  Not as nice as a Leatherman, but it still works.

That Coast tool is about the size of a Leatherman Micra right? Looks like it would make a handy fishing tool.

Yep, it is about the same size as the Micra.  I used it everytime I had it with me when I used to go fishing fairly often.  The little hook disgorger has helped dig quite a few hooks out of crappie and catfish in the past.

Completely OT here... but... I want to go fishing now after seeing that Coast tool.  I could use my new fishing hobby as an excuse to buy more multitools!

Hehe... I wonder if Bob will take me fishing???  ;)

I like, it is wonderful to see the continued growth of this line of tools.

Oh yah, a Diesel! Good to see that amidst Gerber's headlong rush to multitool silliness (Freehand, Radius, Suspension, etc) that they still take time out to actually produce a model with improved features!  :)

Holy Carp!  The fish is almost as big as she is!  Did she wrangle that sucker in herself?

That's one of the many reasons I don't eat fish... You can always tell how big a cow is before you toss it in the pan!
