Seeking is probably a strong word, but I’d like to have an original pioneer with the triangular awl.

Unfortunately they’re fairly rare and usually too spendy for me.

That's why I ended up settling for a Marlboro Outdoorsman. Peanuts compared to Woodsmen, and there's lots of them around.

In terms of the rarest model I have interest in; it's gotta be the Engineer. Made especially for French variable frequency drive manufacturer Telemechanique, and very few were made. Since it's near impossible for me to get one, let alone at a price I can afford, it's my mightiest grail.

There's also a number of 100mm Soldier-based models that would be the forefathers of many 93mm models that are nigh impossible to find.

Seeking is just a play on words because of the whole knights and holy grail thing ;)

In terms of toolset, Yeoman Mechanic. Picked that one the other week. Now, not sure what, if anything, should be next. Probably anything vintage with the LNF.

I'm still looking for a red Alox Tinker! yes, I know there is no such animal. That would be my grail knife.

I can't say that I have one currently.

I had quite a few back in the day...but when you get north of 1000 different ones...it gets a bit hard to think of something you absolutely need.

If I ever get into machining, I may just make a set of 91mm Alox scales as a project. Of course, anodizing them isn't something they teach, nor something you can do at home.

What I've never gotten is that, typically, a military model spawns a civilian relative or derivative if it isn't the other way around. Yet, it wasn't something they ever did with the Dutch Air Force Alox Master Craftsman. Yet, in this case, it never has, yet.

I just started collecting so I don’t know all the models but a scientist would be my pick at this point.

Gotcha.  :tu: I just meant I’m not actively seeking that model, but it’s one I’d consider a grail.

I beg to differ.  :D   :P :pok:  :D  A few of yours are grails for me, along with a Black Beauty and an Alox Pioneer from Thailand that has an elephant on it, I could go on.

Wenger serrated toolchest.  It was my first sak, almost twenty years ago, and would love to have a backup.

My Holly Grail Multitool would be to find the 1998 Swisstool RS still in the Blisterpack that was sold at Sam's Clubs for only a few months here in the US.  It came with the nylon pouch and a 2 AA Brinkmann tail switch Hallogen flashlight all in one Blisterpack.  If my memory serves me right I paid $49.88 + tax for that first Swisstool and it put me FIRMLY on my journey towards becoming a member of the best Forum Family on the planet.
Would be willing to pay many times that now if I could find another still mint right off the display.
Should have bought 2 and left one in the package.  Just didn't know what I was getting.

What is the SAK Holy Grail you seek?

Anything in production between 84 and 91mm, with a blade, scissrors and some kind of prybar/screwdriving ability (especialy up to 3, max 4 layers) is fine by me, really...  :tu:

If i was to be a little particular, a Trailguide would be great, or something that does not exist like a (sort off) 4 layer Trailguide with a inline phillips layer with either a wrench or a finer sized phillips on the other side instead of the mag glass...
