Day 1 - Became a proud owner of a Victorinox Spirit X, and what better way to learn to use the tool than a 30 day challenge? Today, got the rice cooker going. Added some frozen hot beef sausages to the rice and veggies. Still cooking, so no photos of that. Don't want to start sending people to the kitchen.
I would join you in the challenge, but mine is scheduled for monday. If that is ok for the mods, i would start then
Day 2 - Well, it happened, needed to cut some tape and out came the chisel tool (once I found it). (Image removed from quote.) And... bought a Walmart chicken sandwich. Had this spicy sauce inside, yet could not open by hand. Scissors actually do come in handy at times. (Image removed from quote.)
I'll hold off till Monday then, okies? or Tuesday. Am going to be busy the next few days with work, and tomorrow is probably going to be rough.
I think this is the scissor mod: https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,80005.msg1829880.html#msg1829880Might have to do that too, even though I don’t like the idea of grinding at my brand new Spirit
My Spirit came in today! And I think I am already in love It is sturdy, but elegant, compact but has very nice ergonomics. Nothing pinches, nothing wobbles, nothing clumps. This is truly a work of art, and I can't believe I waited so long to get one! Also really like the leather sheath! So, without further ado, let's get this Challenge rolling! Since we start 4 days late we will continue until the 4th of December in order to complete this challenge. Day 1Used the Spirit to break down the box it got shipped in. Already loving this combo tool, with the chisel/scraper. I have a feeling this will see a lot of use! Thanks "Outback in Idaho" for waiting for me, looking forward to your posts!
Catching up on this thread, great pics and uses so far!I really, really like the spirit. It may not be the “best” tool out there, but something about it just speaks to me. Looking forward to seeing what you guys think after a month of use
When not in a challenge I EDC either the Spirit or the Big Brother Swisstool. After doing many challenges with other tools there are a few things (OHO main blade, replacable wire cutters, wider opening jaws) that Vic could do to update and improve the designs. That being said, both are GREAT tools JUST AS THEY ARE and I prefer them both over the other guys that do offer those things.Congratulations on joining a great club of wonderious new adventures.
Day 4 - Hanging Out Awl hook hanging from a Nite Ize S-Biner, catching some reflections. (Image removed from quote.)
