Yes, the saw and file that comes with the SURGE is the exact same shape.

There can never ever be too many topics about the SURGE  :D
But yeah any T-shank blade will fit, though sometimes they fit a bit loosely from what I've heard. I think I read somewhere about someone just using some tape on the blade to tighten it up.

Yeah, I do that.. Just wrap a little scotch tape around the T-shank and you get a much tighter fit!

Are there 2 blade exchangers (for the file and the saw) on the Surge?

Only one, you swap them out. The other spots are occupied by plain edge blade, serrated blade, and scissors which are not removable.

Thereby creating confusion and angst throughout the lands...

That "forum member" is dodgy and irreverent ... proceed with extreme caution and avoid at all cost.   :o

In his or her defense (whomever he or she might be) ,  this forum is chock full of ENABLERS that send little metal bits and whatnot from far-far-off lands which feed this Frankensteinian hunger.  Like Master Puppeteers, they throw tiny chunks of meat to the old caged vulture, laughing and ranting as the obsessed creature toils while sinking ever deeper into Modder Depravity . . .   :ahhh
