I am not keen on the standard red scales either,
I prefer the translucent ruby or sapphire scales.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

I don't mind the red, it's the cheap feeling plastic. They nylon red are great and red alox is a dream!

The old solid cellidor scales have a much better feel than the newer hollow ones. They wear better too, in my view. I also like that solid red ones are slightly deeper in colour (my few are, anyway).

The worst thing they did, scale wise, was to change to those bloody hollow scales.
The solid ones have a great feel and sturdiness to them, and i like the material as much as the looks, personaly....

Personally, I like most any scales, on a SAK.  That being said, I wish there was a way to preserve the artwork on the Limited Editions.  Carry one for a while and it wears off.
