Day 9: Ok, I've used the term "iconic" a couple of times (Buck 110, Ka-Bar), but what else describes the tool that started an industry and my own interest in multitools: the Leatherman Personal Survival Tool?

Not sure why, but today seemed like a great day for a Vic Spartan. This second-hand one from the MTo store, a little darling:

Yessir, I agree.

Other multitools have more tools and more options, but I never really feel unprepared with a Spartan in my pocket...as spartan as the tools set seems.

DAY 9

A nice mug of coffee at work by the river with my Buck 284 Bantam

A16B106B-17A0-49F8-B569-9549D33C7490 by Duncan Moore, on Flickr

That's the one I've been constantly thinking about getting. It's just right for what I do with EDC. I have the 285 (black) and 283 (black and orange Mossy Oak Advantage paint). There's also a big 5" closed version.

'

Those are both great knives. I have the Klein version of the EO COping Knife. I like them without the lock, as the lock is pretty poor. Klein doesn't sell that version anymore.

I swear, I think more of the Revere, as of late, have been sold off as overruns/seconds with the name ground off have been sold so much; I would say they are far more common than your example with the tang stamp. Mine is a second, with two holes drilled for the bail on one scale. D'Oh. Must've been made on a Monday or a Friday!

Day 9. A pretty boring, but simple knife.  Unlike most of my SAKs, it has no interesting advertising or of any vintage. Had work that required a few tools, but a knife easily carried in shorts. Tinker came in just fine for that.

Victorinox Tinker. A recent secondhand pickup. My plans were to replace the plastic scales with SwissBianco orange G-10, but haven't quite yet; and find it quite adequate. Will probably end up springing for Stayglow. Easier to attach, and MUCH cheaper.  And a vehicle just as capable--the Unimog.

Today is my only Spyderco - a PM2 Left-Handed version.  Even though left vs right isn’t that big of deal on this knife as it is with others, I try to support companies who make the offering due to so few doing it.

That was my grail Spyderco, until they came out with the PM3; which was more in the range of "right size" for me.

With linerlock designs, left-handed is pretty much key. That's part of the reason I went to Benchmade. All AXIS lock models are left-handed friendly.

Day9
Still sorting my office/shop...found some very rough, unfinished blades from the forge in a box and a horseshoe fork& knife set(not mine)
These probably have been sitting there for most of a decade; I should finish them someday.

Helps if I remember the pic
