Day 8
In the " that's not a knife... " category the Muela bw 22 Bowie,  bought on my 10 year wedding anniversary trip to Australia,  purely because of Mick Dundee, and to show off to people .  Also with a small pen knife from a local antique store for the other end of the scale

Day 8: From Spain, an automatic knife from Toledo, a city famous for its steel since the Middle Ages. My mother has some scissors with a similar blade pattern. These ornamented blades and handles are very common in Toledo.

I remember seeing Toledo blades everywhere when I was there in 1983/4 (I was a student at Salamanca) including rapiers galore, but they were well beyond my means then! Thanks for sharing!

Day 8

Yesterday’s rain seems to have made my cherry tomatoes put on a spurt of growth so it’s time to tie them up again- the scissors on the Victorinox Ranger 71 are just the job for cutting twine, they really are amazing!

I think Fenix's move to knife industry via Ruike started with pretty good foothold, I don't own a lot of Ruike but the few I have handled, I do feel it offers decent value and could be good performer.

Btw, what truck was that?  Traxxas?  I used to race 1/10 electric touring, and those were some fun time. :tu:

Yup, that's a Traxxas Rustler 1:10 2WD, with Stampede wheels and tires and a small lift by repositioning the lower shock mounts. Also a 15T pinion gear to maintain power wheelies.

I'm not racing it, I just run it in the yard for the dog to chase, and sometimes I take it to the elementary school and play with it on all the concrete and gravel there. It's one of my "Bored AF, Corona purchases". I ended up with the Rustler instead of the stampede because I wanted soemthing less likely to flip, but went with the stampede tires and small lift so it runs better through tall grass. Compromise, but it's working for me.

Charles.

It was explained by a military knife expert on another forum that if "USN" was not present on the pile side, it was made from parts leftover. But, I haven't confirmed that quite yet.

Here are some detailed photos.  I made the sheath myself, for another knife 2-3 years ago. I'd put the retention strap on backwards, and had tossed it aside, as I didn't like how I'd gotten all lazy riveting it together. I fixed it, and have used it pretty much exclusively for the Mark 1. Need to buy the purpose-made one for the Kabar version.

I have to agree with that choice. The humble PST is so easy to carry and so very useful for most EDC situations. Hard to beat.

I had a black leek that I use to carry some in the Navy, but I bent the blade on it (hence the ZT love now).  I still have a damascus Chive and a green Scallion that my wife claimed shortly after I bought it (over ten tears ago).

I've had this knife for a long time and can't remember when or where I got it. I don't even know what model it is....

Ken Onion is just a brilliant designer. The ergos on this knife are fabulous...the whole package works really well.

Great detail and well ornated blade, kinda remind me of well decorated Protech.

I don't have a dog, but I could imagine it's great tool for dog walking.

From the outside world, most folks will think RC cars are nothing but toys.  But when you are in touring race, and the precision of control is so high that drivers are literally chasing fraction of a second lap after lap, and touring car could accelerate from 0 to 60mph in less than 2 seconds, it is all-business like F1.

That's another great DIY sheath, if you don't tell me, I'd think it was stock sheath.  Great job! :like:
